Weekend in Pictures: Film, Flowers, Flats

Peep on the pictures from this past weekend and feel free to share yours in the comment section below :-) Hint: Click on the photos below to enlarge.
Friday night I saw The Hunger Games! I don’t wanna spoil it for you if you haven’t seen it, but that film is perfect for both us ladies and the guys, too. I was so psyched, I bought a few nail polishes from the China Glaze Capitol Colours collection. Review coming atcha soon and a giveaway is coming up, too!
My husband and I headed to Calloway’s nursery to scope out some new plants for our flower garden (which is currently less of flowerbed and more of a mound of weeds).
We decided on some very lovely pink petunias which I ended up not planting because a giant ant pile in the flowerbed. Boo.
On the bright, sunny side, there were some really awesome plants! I just love these purple bell-shaped flowers and the bunny topiaries. If they can make a stiletto topiary, I am totally buying one! And you can quote me on that.
Those bright pink and orange flats are new additions to my shoe closet (not that my shoes have their own closet, but it’s way fancier than shoe pile). Get yourself a pair by shopping Kohl’s Simply Vera line. And guess what? They’re currently on sale for $30. Last but not least, it’s becoming a Sunday tradition: grocery shopping at Target with a Starbucks white chocolate mocha frappucino in hand. Ahhhh…I love spring in Texas!

Giving Weather the Boot: cute and cheap rainboots

Tornadoes, flooding, and severe storms. Hanging out in my bathroom with a flashlight and weather radio isn’t at all what I was planning for tonight but it looks like Mother Nature is making plans for me. Boo. And to top it off, I discovered a hole in my rainboots last week. Double boo. I’m online shopping for some new boots for the next big storm. I’ve found six great pairs under $100 and a super cute pair of ankle boots from Target (pictured below). I hope the weather’s better in your neck of the woods! Click on the images to purchase:
